Writing is a skill and art at the same time. Unless you have both, it is not going to be easy writing a novel, no matter how good your site content may be. And even if you’ve got the skill and artistic inclinations, you can still find so many other factors to take into consideration if you want your book out there, where people can acquire it.

I will lay down for you, important factors you need to consider in writing and publishing the sunday paper. Additionally, I will also explain to you the steps to adopt so that you will be better prepared.

Let me start with the factors first, before I go on to the steps.

Way with words-at all

I don’t mean to discourage people who don’t have writing skills. However, to tell the truth, let me say that a good book requires good writing, to start with. If you have a real good story to share with, or concept to trade, then better be happy to pay a ghost writer to write down for you. A lot of highly successful people do this and have done this.

Good writing, however, doesn’t need you to be a excellent writer. You have editors to create your writing sound and look better. What you need is basic writing skills, which includes knowledge of the right grammatical structure, punctuation, and spelling. Of course this also includes knowing how to type and finding out how to use a computer.

series

Keep in mind that, I have proofread and edited some books that shocked me. Some may not even pass for ability as a copywriter of an elementary student.

ARTISTRY

Unless you are writing something technical or academic, you will need a lot of creativity in writing a book. You should be able to take your readers for a ride so they will enjoy your story. There must be highs and lows, tears and joy, success and failures, and other emotional triggers that may keep your readers captivated by your book.

ORGANIZED THOUGHTS

Some people are gifted with organized thoughts; others are not. To those who do not have this gift, you will find there’s way to keep your thoughts organized, that is certainly to learn how to focus. Planning can be a key ingredient here, which I will explain further in the “steps”.

Meditation helps a great deal in organizing your ideas. Prayer and reading the Bible while playing some instrumental worship music, is the better meditation for me. Walking outside and enjoying nature likewise helps me focus, so long as I can have some private time.

RELEVANCE

Your book is only good if your audience can relate to it. Because of this your theme must be relevant. It is pointless writing the sunday paper about winter if you are writing for a group who may have not even experienced this weather. Incidentally, you have to know who your market niche is ahead of writing. Consider them all the time when you are writing – that they would feel, the way they would react. In a nutshell, put yourself in their shoes being a reader.

PURPOSE

Without purpose, your book will have no direction. May very well not even be able to start writing it. As well as if you are able to start, you might not be able to finish it. The purpose of your book medicine very foundation of your writing, as well as the main source of your inspiration.

The subsequent questions will help you find out the purpose of your book.

Why am I writing this book?
What prompted me to write down this book?
Who inspired me to write this book?
What is going to this book do for me?
What will this book do for others?

TIMING

Timing is quite crucial when it comes to publishing a magazine, more so if the relevance of your theme or subject matter is needed NOW. Consider the perfect season to your book to be released. Can it be better to have it out on the market during the Christmas season or prior to that? Will it be wiser to be in bookstores with the summer? It all depends on your theme and online marketing strategy. I will explain this read more about the steps below.

RESOURCES

Had better be ready with all the resources needed whenever you plan to write a magazine, more so the money you will require. You can work your way towards your monetary goal but at least have something to work with. I know writers who finished their book draft but was without any money to publish it, which discouraged them of course.

Yes you can walk by faith, that’s what I did with all the first edition of my book. But that faith was matched with determination and works too.

COMMITMENT

I know some individuals who told me that they will write a book, and years have elapsed and they haven’t even started writing anything. Some have started writing, but half-way through, got distracted, and contains not gone returning to it. Others are discussing their second and third book without finishing the first.

The best way to do it is to start it when you are ready to finish everything the way through. “Strike the iron even though it is hot”… and keep going. Do not lose the momentum.

Now that I have explained the factors involved in writing a book, let me proceed to the steps. These steps actually revolve around the factors I have discussed. These steps will assist you to avoid mistakes that you will regret doing and definately will surely improve your chances for success.

1. Have a general theme for the book.

Having a theme will make suggestions in making your title, your outline, plus your entire content. It is easier to narrow things down if you have a theme. For instance, in case your theme is “women”, you’ll be able to narrow it into “married women” and down to “Christian married women”. Following that you can further narrow it down regarding the topic you want to give attention to such as “submission to the husband”.

2. Know your market niche or target market.

I already gave a specific example of the market niche above. “Married Christian Women” is often a market niche. You should be as specific and simplified as possible, so it will be better to write and market the novel.

If you are writing about financial planning, you need to know who your specific marketplace is. You can’t voice it out is for everyone. You need to identify who will sometimes be interested in it, and who needs it. What gender… age bracket… social status… religious belief?

3. Write a plan and work from there.

When writing a plan, start with the main topics first. Then fill it in with sub-topics. Let me use “Married Christian Women” because example here again, with focus on submitting to their husbands.

Biblical Guide around the Role of the Wife in Marriage

From here you can keep on adding a lot more sub-topics. Once your outline is clear, writing will be far more easy. You will just flow smoothly simply because you already have a guide.

4. Come up with a catchy title.

Your title must be relevant to the times, to your target market, and to your theme. It needs to be something that can be easily understood from your intended audience. When people see it, they should use a clear idea of what are the book is all about, but still maintaining some mystery to it.

Following are sample titles in my “Married Christian Wives” example.

5. Use a plan.

Do not start writing a magazine without any plan. This is actually the only way you can stay focused on it, and will improve your chances for success.

Your plan includes your entire timetable, at the time of writing to selling your book. I suggest you work backwards. Start with the time you want your books out for sale, and work backwards from that point.

Publishing takes of a month or two, or can also go longer than that, when of submission of manuscript. In case you have a separate editor than your publisher, then you’ve got to incorporate that within your timetable too. I give my clients 3-4+ weeks to edit the sunday paper, depending on the extent of editing I will do. If your publisher will do the marketing for you, then you have to ask them how long it will take from publishing for you to get them out available. If you will do your personal marketing, you have to factor in the venues that you will be promoting your book and just how long it will take to put together and coordinate with your venues, as well as your guests.

Book promotion covers pre-launching, actual launching, and post launching. The pre-launching includes hyping increase intended audience, a lot like some teaser, to acquire them curious and seeking forward to your book. Your launching is your big debut, in places you introduce your book towards the public. Prior to this you have to consider press releases, invitations, and also other preparations. The post launching entails more selling which may include talks, interviews, along with other means of promotions.

Besides your entire plan for your book, you will need to plan for a day, time, and set where you can do your writing on a regular basis.

Your plans also needs to include your budget.

6. Explore your publishing options.

There are numerous publishing options these days. Gone are the days when your only choice is to submit your manuscript to some publisher and if they like it, they will publish it.

Here’s a list of things the publisher are capable of doing for you. Find out what you can do on your own, or what you could outsource to other people. Be wise and inventive.

In my clients I offer proofreading, editing, and typesetting. Which means that when we submit the project to the publisher, all they are going to do is final proofreading before the text layout and design. This may or may well not save on cost, based on the publisher you are going to use. I have two publishers on my list that I can recommend to you, depending on where you live. I’m very comfortable dealing with these people.

7. Produce your marketing strategy.

This will likely fall part of the plan and will only apply to people that want to do their own marketing. It provides “where”, “how”, and “when”. Where would you intend to market your book? How would you intend to do it? When do you plan to do it?

Bearing all these things in mind, it’s pretty obvious that writing the sunday paper is not an easy task. However, using these guidelines, your book could possibly be the next bestseller.
